Did Lindsay Lohan Steal a $2500 Necklace?

Did Lindsay Lohan Steal a $2500 Necklace?

Lindsay Lohan is back in trouble with the law. The 24-year-old hasn't even been out of rehab for a month, and she's already been accused of theft.

Earlier today, RadarOnline reported that the troubled starlet had been named as a suspect in a high-end jewelry theft, noting that on Tuesday investigators in the Los Angels Police Department (LAPD) had requested a search warrant for her Venice Beach home. "Lindsay is being accused of stealing high-end jewelry, including a necklace," a source told the site. "(She) has been photographed and there is video of her wearing the jewelry she is accused of stealing."

Now RadarOnline reports that a friend of the Mean Girls starlet has turned in the stolen jewelry to detectives in Los Angeles. The one-of-a-kind necklace is reportedly worth $2500.

LAPD Pacific Division Lt. Jeff Bert confirmed that "a person claiming to represent Lindsay Lohan" turned the necklace in at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, before a search warrant was issued for the actress' home. "LAPD began investigating Lohan on January 23," Bert said. "The necklace was reportedly stolen from a Venice boutique. If the LA County DA's office files charges, it would be grand theft, which is a felony."

Lohan already violated her probation when she allegedly assaulted an employee at Betty Ford during her court-mandated stint in rehab. We hope for her sake this is all a misunderstanding and that she hasn't gone kleptomaniac on us. If the actress did in fact pull a Winona, she'll likely soon be back in court and maybe even back behind bars.
